Spelling regular past tense verbs

• If the verb ends in e- just add d
• CVC and CVCC (t,n,p words) - double the last consonant then add ed
• New rule: If the verb ends in a y- change the y to an i and then add ed 
  
  Past tense verbs review
  decide-decided shop- shopped carry- carried 
  look- looked mop-mopped tidy- tidied
  
  Irregular verbs
  swim -swam, see, saw, go- went

Activity: Retell a time when you had an interesting holiday or an experience.

Imagine you are having a conversation with one of your friends. 

Write a role play to retell your experiences on holiday.

Remember to:

• Add detail using the 5w and H
• Use the simple past (When we talk about an event that finished in the past, 
  we use the simple past tense)

For example: Last year I went on an amazing holiday to Cambodia.

 I travelled there alone but while I was there I met lots of nice people etc.
